Two kings emerge in Iree
Iree town is located in Boripe local government area of Osun state. The town is popularly known for alubosa (onion), which is the major reason they are called Iree alalubosa.
The perplexed situation in Iree town is worrisome as two kings in the town are fighting for the throne. One of the kings – who was installed by the former governor of Osun state, who is also the present minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, – Oba Ademola Ponnle, has taken the case to the court, and prayed the court to dismiss the decision of Osun state governor Senator Ademola Adeleke in dicontinuing his tenure as a king.

Meanwhile, Governor Adeleke, is said to appoint Muritala Oyelakin aas the new Aare of Iree land. Muritala Oyelakin, also assured the public that the coronation will hold as planned on Saturday, 3rd of May 2024.
