New born twin baby got stolen in hospital

Ugandan police have launched a manhunt for a woman accused of stealing a new born twin at Koboko hospital.

The twin girl was delivered via caesarean section on March 30 was stolen after delivery. The mother of the twins Mrs Afekuru Baifa, 32, said she realised the baby was mising when she was still in the theatre.

In her words, Baifa said some people came to congratulate her and showing her love. One of the well wishers carried the baby, went out with the baby to pick her phone and never return with the baby again.

Dr Jimmy Mungunira the Medical Suprintendent of Koboko hospital said because the pregnancy was twin pregnancy, they presented the woman to the theatre. After the operation was successful, the midwife presented the babies to the mother and the babies were taken to the ward with the escort of the attendant. When the midwives went to drop the waste in the plancenta pit, they realised one of the babies is missing.

Others mother at the ward confessed they saw a woman helping other women without knowing her motives.
