Good news as Ekiti gov approves N138.7m car, housing loan for teachers, others
The governor of Ekiti state, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has authorized the payment of N138.7m car and housing loans to 448 teaching and non-teaching staff of the state Teaching Service Commission.

The Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ekiti State Teaching Service Commission, Mr Mike Omolayo, disclosed this in a statement made avilable to the newsmen.
Omolayo said, “successful applicants under the scheme are expected to obtain letters of introduction signed by their principals and bursars, present their official identity cards and as well photocopies of their biometric data forms, appointment and confirmation letters to facilitate the payment processes.”

How to apply for Oyo State teachers’ recruitment.
Oyo state government has opened a portal for the recruitment of primary school teachers into public primary schools in the state.
On Tuesday, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), revealed the application portal during a press conference in Ibadan, the state capital.
According to Dr. Adeniran, the recruitment aims to fill vacancies in public schools across the state.

He said the portal will begin accepting job applications as from 6:00p.m. today, June 25, 2024, and will remain open for the next three weeks.
He said application will close on Tuesday, 9th of July, 2024.
He advised applicants to provide all required information, as failure to do so may disqualify them from taking the computer-based test.

Bullying: Ajayi Crowther University student tortured for 16 hours, killed for stealing phone.
A yet-to-be-identified male student of the Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, in Oyo State, has allegedly been beaten to death inside a hostel known as Shepherd Inn on the school premises by a group of other students for allegedly stealing a mobile phone.
It was gathered that the deceased was also said to have had his hair forcefully shaved by his assailants after he was reportedly caught with the stolen mobile phone.

“They said they caught him with a stolen phone. They started beating him from 6pm yesterday (Friday) until he died at about 10am today (Saturday).
“The incident happened at ‘Shepherd Inn’. It’s like a lodge or a hostel now. They also shaved the hair of the guy before beating him,” a witness said.

Students loan bill: 1.2 million students in Nigeria to benefit from the first phase.
The long-awaited student loan programme will take off on Friday with 1.2 million students in federal tertiary institutions across the country, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund, Akintunde Sawyerr, has said.
