Groups endorsed Wike as party leader.

The Coalition of PDP groups, Coalition of Northern youth groups, Nigeria Democratic Defense Project, Nigeria Citizens Watch for Good Governance, and Coalition of FCT Abuja groups, declared their loyalty to Wike’s leadership.

The spokesperson for the support groups, Onwe Ogezi, said, “We are gathered here in a historic affirmation of our steadfast belief in the leadership of the incomparable Nyesom Wike.

“His strategic foresight and dedication to the core values of our party resonate with us profoundly, fostering a unity that is both rare and vital in today’s political climate.”

He stated further, “The unwavering faith of our party members in Nyesom Wike’s vision is a testament to his unassailable dedication to the PDP. Since 1999, Wike has remained a loyal party man, never wavering in his commitment, unlike others who have intermittently departed our ranks.”

Court affirms Abure, Labour Party disowns caretaker chairman

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday, declared Julius Abure as the substantive national Chairman of the Labour Party (LP).

Justice Emeka Nwite had, in a judgement affirmed the Abure-led leadership and the March 2024 Nnewi convention of the party that produced the national leadership of the party.

The court further ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise Abure as the legitimate chairman, overriding the Commission’s earlier stance that Abure’s leadership was invalid.

According to the Judge, “I am of the view that and so hold that the basis of these cogent verifiable documents, the defendants attempt to impeach the validity of the leadership of the plaintiff fails.

Rivers crisis deepens as Wike camp heads for court as Fubara swears in LG chairmen

Wike and FubaraThe Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress factions on Sunday rejected the conduct and outcome of the local government election, stating that no election was held in the state on Saturday.

The Rivers PDP loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, described the poll as an exercise in futility, vowing to challenge it in court.

The Wike camp said this as the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, swore in the newly elected council chairmen of the 23 local government areas of the state.
